Here, you will find brief descriptions of the courses I took at Clemson. Samples of these courses are available when you click the button below.



Business Courses (Major)

MGT 4230 International Business Management (Seville): I worked with a group of two other students to manage and direct a simulated milk and yogurt company competing with other students. My group took 1st place. This taught me how to analyze balance sheets and income statements to ensure the success of a company. 

MKT 4270 International Marketing (Seville): I worked with 3 other students to devise a complete, 37 page business plan to launch BarkBox in Japan. We evaluated competition, researched the market, strategically chose the place of launch as well as the logistics, and ended up with an A. 

MKT 3010 Principles of Marketing: I learned the basics of marketing in depth including planning, pricing, promoting, and distributing of goods and services

MKT 3020 Consumer Behavior: I learned about behavioral science and its application to consumer decision making. I learned how to segment a market by types of consumer and create a marketing plan to appeal to certain types of people. 

LAIB 4000 Language and International Business Internship: I interned with Cardinal Health Global Trade over the summer of 2023 and they extended my contract until December 2024 to work in the Freight Audit and Pay team. More information about my internship is available on the Internship page. 

I took many other business related courses in Accounting, Management, Mathematics, and Economics. I've only listed the courses I learned the most from here. 

Business Courses (Minors)

Economics Minor:

ECON 3150 Intermediate Macroeconomics: I studied complex subjects like business cycles, inflation, investment, and monetary policy

ECON 3140 Intermediate Microeconomics: I learned about opportunity cost, equilibrium, elasticity, and more. 

ECON 3020 Money and Banking: I learned about America’s government and banking systems as well as private banks. Complex subjects like inflation and unemployment where taught.

ECON 3100 International Economics: I learned about globalization and the impact it has had on economies all over the world. 

ECON 3060 Managerial Economics: I learned how to combine economic theory with actual management practices. 

 

Business Administration Minor:

LAW 3220 Legal Environment of Business: I learned the complexity of business law and studied some of the most important aspects of it such as employment law, intellectual property, taxes, and environmental regulation. I studied many well known cases and learned how legal issues can affect a company.

FIN 3060 Corporation Finance: I learned and applied mathematical formulas to real world problems. and learned how to analyze financial statements and make long term financing decisions. 

I also took other 2000 level Accounting, Economics, and Management courses to complete this minor. 

Language Oriented Courses

SPAN 3160 (in Seville) International Business I: I learned key business terminology and about Spanish work culture, which is very different from the US. 

SPAN 4160 Spanish for International Business II: I expanded my business vocabulary and learned about logistics and work culture in Latin American countries. 

SPAN 3020 Intermediate Spanish Grammar and Composition: I learned how to read and write more effectively in Spanish.

SPAN 3050 Intermediate Spanish Conversation and Comprehension: I practiced my speaking and listening Spanish skills.

I took other lower level Spanish courses to learn the basics. These courses are the most advanced; they are entirely in Spanish and focus on difficult grammatical and technical concepts. 

Culture and Literature Courses

SPAN 4010 New Spanish Fiction (Seville): I read and analyzed contemporary Spanish literature like Nada by Carmen Laforet and various poems and short stories. 
 
SPAN 3040 Intro into Hispanic Literary Forms: I read and analyzed Hispanic literature such as San Manuel Bueno, Martyr as well as contemporary short stories and poems. 
 
SPAN 3180 Spanish Through Culture: I read and analyzed contemporary literature such as La Chica Invisible and studied popular Spanish culture with an emphasis on the impact of singer Rosalía on Spanish culture. 
 
SPAN 4350 Contemporary Hispanic Culture: I read and analyzed Feria, Volver, and other modern Spanish works as well as their influence on modern Spanish society. The Spanish dictator Franco and the lasting affects of his rule were discussed in depth

COMM 1800 Communication and Global Competence (Seville): I learned how culture affects behavior, personality, and way of life and how to navigate cultural differences respectfully and productively.
